This entry will be something special. I’ve been inspired by the tarot – spiritual community from Instagram to do this post, @tarotbyania and @mnomquah are worth to mention here. They are brave people that dare to share their opinions in a moment when the online community seems to be getting shallower, superficial and hungry for popularity. This blog will be very personal because I want to share my view of several spiritual things. Let’s remove all the veils and get spiritually naked!
Do Gods exist? Is there only one or many?
For me the real question should be: is there anything trascendental? Something true and eternal that is beyond space and time? In my case I believe there is something, that imbues Life in all things, that rules over matter, space, time and energy. We can find it in the patterns of Nature, in all physical, chemical, biological phenomena that happen in our Universe. Some relationships we know at least a bit, as gravity, thermodynamics or genetics, and science does well at explaining them. There are a lot of other relationships our human mind won’t understand, but I think they are ruled by this Force too. This Force, Source, Energy, whatever you want to call it, is part of us, the spark that gives us life and makes us enter in the game of the Universe. Some would say I have a pantheistic view for this, but I don’t like labels.
Then comes our human mind and tries to make a concrete concept of what is infinite, eternal and almighty. This way the idea of God or Gods take form. The easiest way to connect with this pure energy is to think it’s an entity itself. For me all gods are different aspects of that original spark of life that makes us function in this Universe. It would be said I am panentheistic for this, but sometimes gets complicated too. I like also to see gods as manifestations of archetypes, another invention of the ever analysing part of the human mind. We have too much “Solve” and very little “Coagula”.
What is a Soul? Is there an Afterlife?
For me a Soul is our idea of the Self, what gives us individuality and makes us unique between the rest of living beings. Nevertheless, I think our Soul is mortal and it can’t trascend our death. When our body dies, the soul dies too, there’s nothing that can keep it alive and conscious anymore. The memory of us lives in those who have known us in life though, but it’ll be censored by their own subjective perspective.
As you can infer from this, I don’t believe in afterlife. Your body will decompose in matter and energy that will be used by other living beings. The cycle of life continues, that’s all. And what about that Spark I told we all have in us? It will return to the Source again, returning to its pure and undifferentiated state, ready to give Life to the next creation.
Is there any karmic law?
I don’t think there’s something that can punish our decisions or way of behaving apart from the rules and laws humans have made. Life is a bunch of well regulated chemical reactions, so the only known “karmic laws” that could affect are the Laws of Thermodynamics, in my opinion.
New Age: What about aliens, astrology, tarot, law of attraction, etc?
I believe aliens exist but we haven’t made contact with them. I believe there could be different dimensions, but we haven’t had the chance to explore them yet. I don’t believe in conspirations, law of attraction, fortune-telling, reptilians, alternative medicine (such as reiki, acupuncture, homeopathy, Bach flowers, ayurveda, etc). I don’t believe in paranormal activity or psychic powers, but I can understand some people can have a more suggestive mind and think they have had experiences that could not have a scientifical explanation. I see astrology and tarot as psychological tools to analyse ourselves and help us develop psychologically and spiritually. They’re not made for predicting the future.
I know my points of view won’t be shared by many. And they may change in the future, as they have made during my life due to the different circumstances I’ve lived. My spiritual practice has evolved too, accordingly to these transformations. In my case I had to isolate myself for some time to find these answers. Isolate from social media, from books, podcasts, any spiritual content. I stopped practicing any kind of magick. I journalled about my feelings and thoughts during that period, and in the end, the answers came.
I hope my beliefs are respected, but I know several people will disagree or even complain about my views. They are free to do so too, but this is my reality, my subjective experience of life, and therefore, unique. Thanks for reading this confession and consequently, taking part of my Existence.
